The reason I chose this company is because I knew a lot of my friends and family knew about the brand and already bought the products whenever they could find a consultant. So I figured why not just have them all buy from me instead? It has gone wonderfully so far and I'm even in a retail store now. (Update: In June 2017, the co-founder, Dave Wood, has for the time being stepped down following his check-in into drug rehabilitation and the company no longer exists). I wonder if the buzz of Empower Network will ever die down? This is one of those rare gems of the MLM industry that exploded onto the scene and did not hit a bump in the road by dying out only after a year of being out there.  Although now the company is on decline, and its highly doubtful they’ll make it on any lists in the years to come.
Another nutritional MLM selling another magical superfruit with a marked up price tag. So what? Their story might not be interesting, but their bottom line is: they’ve expanded to 44 countries and counting after just over a decade in operation. On top of that, they provide extensive sales training and good commission rates to their reps, which is pretty rare nowadays.

MLM restructures the traditional business model — manufacturer to retail shop to customer — such that sales agents working for the manufacturer sell directly to customers, bypassing the retail shop altogether. MLM companies can then convert customers into advocates for their products and possibly even sales agents. Because there is no retail store for the products they sell, MLM agents typically work from their homes, interacting with customers in the community or, more often, over the internet.
Okay, we have a return to network marketing roots (can you remember the days of Tupperware parties…no? Well I’m not sorry to tell you there’s a reason for that).  Products for your kitchen, cooking demos, and an abundance of mommy bloggers.  Well homemakers are still the key demographic for this MLM, because they are looking for flexibility.  It’s not surprising to anyone that this company has done so well, but what is notable is that even Warren Buffet saw this company and decided he wanted a piece of the pie.
A benefit to becoming a consultant for Usborne books in the US is that the company is based out of the UK and their product is not available in the states except for the limited titles found in brick and mortar book stores and the small (outdated) selection on Amazon. So by being a direct-seller of this product, you have a leg up on the retail competition as you'll be offering new titles at the best possible price.
#1- Pick a company that you are passionate about – I can’t stress this enough! There are so many companies out there that you can find one that gets you super excited. Maybe their products have been a godsend to you, maybe you love their mission, maybe it’s something that is super fun for you, whatever your reason make sure the company you pick gets you fired up and excited! (Scroll down for an awesome list of companies!) Make sure to take into consideration start-up costs, and commission rates they vary from company to company.
Their product lines also include girls and toddler/baby sizes. But here's the bad news: consultants only earn a 25% commission so if you sell around three pairs of leggings in an order you're only earning about $13. If you can hustle your products and remember that that's all of the work you really have to do unless you decide to also host trunk shows, then the potential to earn a steady side-income is there.
