Life's Abundance sells products that help consumers (cats, dogs, and humans) live happier, healthier and longer lives. Field Reps (Consultants) earn commission on commissionable products, as well as startup, sales, and team building bonuses. According to this article, the startup fee is only $29.95 and there are no monthly sales quotas, and your website is free. Life's Abundance has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
We’ve recently started a crazy cool “give and get” rewards program to help new Compassionate Entrepreneurs get off to a strong start, creating a business that is sustainable for our artisan partners and income generating for their own family. If you bring in $1000 in sales in the first full month (which is about 2 home parties), you’re given a $100 coupon to build your kit and you also gift 12 baby chicks to a family in Africa. Hit your $1000 in the 2nd month and you earn another $100 coupon and feed a child in a Haitian orphanage for a month, and so on…. When it’s all said and done you have the opportunity to earn $1800 in ToH coupons in your first 4 months, and could even send a girl to school for a year in Haiti. I was able to hit all of these goals, and now I’ll be meeting the girl that I am sponsoring through my business as I travel with Trades of Hope to  Haiti this coming October. This entire program speaks volumes about the heart of our founders and company, and is just an incredible opportunity.
You also need to make sure the program you are interested in was evaluated by someone who actually tested it. If you find affiliate links in the review of an MLM program, the website that published the review is probably earning revenues by referring new sellers and you should understand that it might not be in the interest of the site to present the program in a neutral manner.
I came across this page as I googled “selling products from home” I am in desperate need to do something to bring income into my household. My husband just got laid off work, I’m a 22 year old mom to 2 adorable boys (3 & 1 years old). My husband has done everything he can and refuses I work because he feels it’s his responsibility to bring in the income at home, but right now I just feel like I need to step in and do something to help out! It is hard for me to go out and work which is why I’m seeking a work from home job.If anyone can help me get started or has any advice they can share with me please email me.

I think that all the suggestions you made are great – however there is one I believe was overlooked, such as ‘promote other people products’. In this new generation of online technology, there are several ways to make money online. The great thing about this is that all you need is a blog and then you sign up for free accounts at clickbank and commission junction. Once you do that you can simply choose products to promote on your blog for free and if someone purchases the product you get a good portion of the sale. It’s definitely an option to look into being that you don’t need any money to get started.
One year ago, I would have told you I wouldn't be interested in or successful with a direst sales company. Like, AT ALL. I've had quite a few friends post TONS on their Facebook profiles about their businesses, and while I root for them and am happy to support them if they have a company with a product I could use, I'm just not one for tons of "have a party with me" calls or FB posts. Plus, I have five kids and we homeschool, so extra time isn't really in spades around here.
I enjoyed this post and spent too many hours reading all your other posts and watching your videos. You have some excellent real life experiences to share and glad I found this blog. My wife and I are with It Works Global (She started it and I came on board later). I was curious why they didn’t make your list? Do you think blogging would work with this type MLM? I have only had success using Instagram and Facebook. The MLM model is not something I like but it is what is I guess. My wife joined to get a discount on wraps and now this insane looking chart pays the bills. I want to take it further just keep searching for a good way to do so. Maybe blogging is the answer? Thank you. for your time. Mike
Sseko Designs is an amazing ethical Direct Sales company that helps provide dignified jobs and educational opportunity for women in Uganda. Women in the U.S. can sell Sseko Product for competitive commission while they contribute to real social impact! Would love to see Sseko added to the list, the products (sandals, jewelry, apparel, leather bags..) are STUNNING!
Plexus Worldwide is an amazing company to work from home with, I never feel pressured to make sales, I am a product of the product which in return does the sales for me. The products are truly remarkable in that they are multi taskers and have had testimonial proof helping with so many health issues. No website fees, 11 ways to earn, no home parties. I can go on and on about this company I have great passion for! :)
Syrup, gravy, and salsa are just a few of the products offered by Wildtree under the premise that their condiments and spices are, "free of preservatives, additives, fillers and promote a healthier lifestyle." ... which is probably how they can convince you purchase a $12 spice blend. After looking through their product catalog and their business model I do think this looks like a good opportunity for those who have the time and the energy to devote to the company and selling Wildtree products.
New companies are added all the time! Grab a piece of paper and think about what products might interest you. Once you've got it narrowed down – start looking closer at companies that offer those particular items. Once you've got it down to 2 or 3 direct sales companies – then you can start asking for a look at their compensation plans. Try and find someone with the company that is close to your area. Meet with them over some coffee at a Cracker Barrel or something – and have your questions prepared. Ask them to bring some sample products. Or simply host a home party at your house! This way you get an idea of what you need to do to grow your home business, the products and you can earn FREE hostess reward item(s) to boot!
I’ve been a representative of juice plus for several months now. I love their product line of organic fruits, vegetables and grains made into super convenient capsules, gummies, shakes and bars. They make adding so many healthy foods into our bodies so easy and fun! I love seeing the outcomes of people who purchase and use juice plus. It makes them happier and healthier overall! Valerieneaves@juiceplus.com
I’ve also learned to lead in Mary Kay and become much more empowered as a woman. I’ve got a business I can do from anywhere, and one I’m proud to share with my friends and family. I’ve learned to help other women start their own businesses and share tools and tricks that have helped me have success. My unit grows as a team and works toward becoming a successful group of Mary Kay consultants. The Mary Kay products are known and loved by many so it’s fun to share all the new beauty and skincare lines as well as the cherished standbys that customers love.
I'm sorry to hear that you're disappointed in this post, however the idea behind this article was actually to come from the perspective of a stay-at-home mom so it is indeed an opinion and not necessarily a "fact based" article. You're right, from what I can find currently, the startup price to join It Works! is $99, not $100. I will update that in my article. I found that information on an unofficial It Works! blog called WrapItLoseIt.net where I read that the best starter package retails for $499. When I checked out the official It Works! website I was unable to locate any information directly from the company that indicates the actual startup costs of joining the company which I find frustrating as I'm sure others do as well. Would you mind posting a link to that here so others can find quick and clear information on It Works! without having to dig?
Mark. is a beauty and fashion boutique that touts itself as having fresh and on-trend products. They have everything from makeup to bath and body to hair care to fashion. For $99, you receive a collection of beauty products and samples, fashion accessories, magalogs, invitations, order forms, thank you cards and a mark. tote to get your business started.
You definitely forgot Thrive by Le-Vel. Premium nutritional supplement line. Weekly commission, no promoter fees, free cloud office, training at your fingertips, free customer accounts, great demand for health right now more than ever. I have never felt better in all my years as a mom. I decided to promote because of the product and how it made me feel. Though all teams within the company may not be as great as my team, it is a wonderful company! My team...we are like family. Always there for each other. I love promoting Thrive!

This is not a ringing endorsement for the entire industry.  Like any investment of time, money, and energy, people need to be aware of what they are getting into and do their homework.  That’s the primary reasons I began researching the topic by reaching out to regular everyday people involved in these types of businesses and who were willing to skip the hype and offer a transparent view of the programs and give their opinions as to whether this can be a realistic source of retirement income.

If 18,000,000 Americans consider MLM their careers, yet only 0.3% actually succeed beyond average corporate America wages, do people realize that means there are barely more than 50,000 Americans “living the MLM dream” and almost 17,950,000 who just help the 50,000? Sad. I was part of team Tupperware decades ago because I wanted to buy Tupperware for my home for less. It took me about 14 months as a stay at home mother (never recruited, never pressured, my distributor didn’t like my attitude) to accomplish that task and then walked away. I live in rural America where so many fall to MLMs attempting to climb out of paycheck to paycheck living (very few good jobs) like the saved into a baptismal pool. “Disciples” is the perfect word. MLMs are just not thriving here. How many Americans can one recruit/sell to for building a business in a rural county with less than 20,000 other Americans of which 75% live below the poverty line? I see MLM victims everywhere.
I am surprised not to see Thirty One on your list. I know you are hearing a lot about it locally but we are struggling to grow team members west of the Mississippi! Since your blog has nationally known any exposure would be great! The other KEY fact about Thirty one http://www.mythirtyone.com/amberjdavis is we are expected to triple in size this year! This is important if you want to promote to management in a DS company! We are only 10 years old and a baby in the industry! Starting Feb.16 YOU can start for $99 and receive a $99 rebate! Basically, start for free! I defiantly need to consider an ad with your page!
Here we’ve got a throwback to network marketing’s roots (Remember Tupperware parties? No? There’s a reason for that). Kitchen products, cooking demos, and mommy bloggers galore. Stay-at-home-moms looking for some flexibility are still a HUGE target demographic for MLM, so it’s no surprise that Pampered Chef has done so well that Warren Buffett decided he needed a piece of the action.
Nikken is an MLM company created in 1975 by Isamu Masuda with the main goal of producing effective wellness solutions. Its first product, The Magstep, was focused on solving body fatigue and sore feet problems. In 1989, the company expanded to North America and has since entered new markets (countries) all around the world. The company makes about $9 billion in revenues annually.
With the Clever Containers I see a lot of stuff that can be purchased at a value price at retailers like Hollar, Ikea or even Target. To compete, I think Clever Container needs to style their products with more of an eye towards their market (I would consider myself one of their markets). What I look for in home organization products is first, functionality, which is present here, but second a product that blends well or accents my home, vehicle or office space. Their bathroom products are a great example of functionality and attractiveness! I'd like to see the laundry bags, travel sets and shopping bags come in more neutral patterns - they would be more marketable that way.
I can't get a super clear idea of how much it costs to sell for the company but it appears that packages start around $100 and can go up to $400 (UPDATE 3/2017 - It Works! representative Angela commented below suggesting that the startup costs are $99, not $100, however I still can't find a definite price on startup costs on the official It Works website and have since seen on other blogs that the costs can actually go up to more like $499. If someone can find a link from the official It Works website I'd love if you could post it below for clarification!)
I was browsing the web to see what other at home businesses are out there and ran across your post which I enjoyed. I wanted to share with you another opportunity out there called Perfectly Posh which specializes in naturally based, USA-made pampering products. It’s a one time starter kit which is $99 but you get over $150 worth full sized products, plus samples and printed papers to get you started. They have an online academy, tools to help you thrive, rewards and amazing perks. Commission starts out at %20 and goes up as you advance.
You also need to make sure the program you are interested in was evaluated by someone who actually tested it. If you find affiliate links in the review of an MLM program, the website that published the review is probably earning revenues by referring new sellers and you should understand that it might not be in the interest of the site to present the program in a neutral manner.
The low cost often lures people in without doing their research. People make many mistakes when starting in MLM. Some don't research the company or product. Others don't read the contract they sign. Many newbies rely on the information provided by their sponsor. This is a problem because even the best sponsor won't be able to cover every little detail, and of course, some sponsors fail to disclose everything (in which case, you don't want that sponsor). Problems people experience in MLM due to failure to research or study the contract is their fault, not MLM.
A few noteworthy points on this list… The only companies considered for this list are U.S.A. based; and if you click on each and every company linked above, what you will not find should be as interesting to you (and as revealing) as what you will find. There are no travel companies, only two technology companies (ACN and 5LINX), just one service company (Legal Shield), and 22 health and wellness companies. Even Amway, whose core product line still includes soap, really got started by way of the wellness revolution! Read this book by Paul Zane Pilzer and you’ll understand why nutrition, weight management, and skincare products continue to drive the trends in the network marketing industry to this day.
You'd have to be living under a rock to never run into someone involved in multi-level marketing (MLM) (sometimes referred to as direct sales or network marketing). Maybe you've been to a party where a host does a presentation about makeup, cookware, or jewelry. Perhaps on old acquaintance has shown you a plan on how you can "leverage your time and money."
Hi there :) another great company to work for is Le-Vel. It’s the first company to ever have wearable nutrition that helped with mental clarity, appetite control and is time released.. We offer so many more Greta products and have helped thousands of people. It’s great for energy, body aches and pains, headaches/migraines and weight management and best it’s 100% natural, gluten free and gmo free. They also have a car allowance of up to $800 once you reach a certain amount a month.. Check it out http://www.thethrivedream.le-vel.com
First, it's $99 to get started. That includes everything you need to get your business up and running, including catolog and products to try yourself or sell. In order to stay an active consultant, you must be active ($200 in sales) one month in a revolving 3 month period (ex: if you were active in July, you would have to have another active month by the end of October at least). And after your first 3 months, it's $15 a month to keep your website up.
Another nutritional MLM selling another magical superfruit with a marked up price tag. So what? Their story might not be interesting, but their bottom line is: they’ve expanded to 44 countries and counting after just over a decade in operation. On top of that, they provide extensive sales training and good commission rates to their reps, which is pretty rare nowadays.

Hi Holly, great list! I read in one of your comments that you list the companies with lower saturation in the marketplace. I did not see anyone mention NERIUMAD anywhere. If anyone has been paying attention to the DS marketplace, you should know that NERIUMAD is rocketing to the moon with its flagship product – our age-defying night cream and now in just a few days, our new moisturizing day cream will be hitting the streets! Head to http://www.2020skin.com/party to get some info about NERIUM, then feel free to contact me. I earned an iPad in my first 30 days!
Hello everyone! I’m an affiliate with a fairly new company called Sparckily Apparel. We sell leggings, Canadian made clothing, tops and other accessories! This company is based out of St. John’s, Nl! They have very low startup cost which is what attracted me to join them! Leggings are becoming very popular everywhere! My website is http://www.sparckily.ca/#cozylegsboutique
Start making money by promoting THE top brand in baby carriers that has been rapidly growing its store by including quality baby products parents can rely on. Ergobaby revolutionized how we carry babies back in 2002. Now, with their affiliate program you can refer sales and earn commissions! Do you wear your baby in an Ergo Carrier? If so, when friends ask about it, share your affiliate link with them!
First off, I think it's awesome that you and your friends are earning so well with It Works! As I mentioned in my post "selling for It Works requires an intense amount of motivation and work, without which you'll surely fail. This is more like a Work-At-Home career choice than a stay-at-home mom hobby. There seems to be an opportunity for serious cash here, but there's also opportunity to fail and lose money." It sounds like you've been diligent to work hard, hustle your products, and really own this business and that's the energy and effort it takes to make big bucks in any selling career. I did use the word "fail" but the context was in a person not applying themselves to the product. I think you would agree you've had to apply yourself because that's the nature of marketing and selling.
love the info. I am in direct sales and love what I am doing. I am a indeendent director with thirty one gifts. before thirty one i did not believe much in my self but through this company i have found the true me i am putting my self through higher edu with out have to take money away from my house hold. i have doing direct sales for 2 years and wish i would have started sooner. i am trying to find ways to build my team with other’s in other states that have not heard of thirty one any and all sugestions would be great on how to do this besides going on a road trip. thanks in advance tonya if any one would like more about thirty one my web page is http://www.mythirtyone.com/25039

Everything Happy is a new Direct Sales organization that sells an amazing and growing collection of Children’s products. The company was started by a 7 year old boy who wanted to bring smiles to children all over the world and after watching his sisters play with their stuffed animals and blankies, he came up with the idea for Happy Blankie and lie of incredibly soft blankies in the shape of animal faces with huge smiles on them. As our company developed we added stuffed animals and clothing and plan to add much more into the future! But, the most amazing thing about Everything Happy is the Mission of One to Love, One to Give. For every item we sell, we donate one of the exact same item to a child in need. We have donated thousands of products across the US and all over the world.

As a single mom, I needed to bring in extra money on top of my salary, and I decided to take a look at direct sales companies to make money. It can be tough work, but the 7 companies I’ve listed below provide awesome products, are great to their consultants and designers, and provide lots of resources to help you be successful. The commission I’ve earned from selling Scentsy, Thirty-One Gifts, and recently Origami Owl has helped me through some very tight times. As always, read the requirements of the consultant for each of these companies before making a decision. Do you need some extra cash? Take a look at these direct sales companies to make money and supplement your income!
I found your article interesting. My wife and I have been involved with AdvoCare since November 2011. Even if I never make another dime in AdvoCare, I will continue to use the products because they have worked and continue to work for us. What I find interesting is the statistic that the majority – 99.7% in MLM actually “lose” money. What is the context of that statistic? That would mean A: the majority of MLM companies don’t have a buyback or return policy B: people that get started with MLM’s have to take on much more inventory that they are able to sell or C: this statistic is not accurate. I believe that C is the right answer. I do agree there are flaws in the MLM industry just as there are flaws in every industry. However, I believe that the MLM industry has made huge improvements in recent years and we do have a better way. People are the variable. When you have a great product, a passion and purpose that drives you everyday, are teachable and coachable, and love others as much as you love yourself, you can be successful in this business. Through the process of investing in your own personal development and learning to serve others, you are able to lead others to do the same. Thanks again. I look forward to reading more from you in the near future.
I have a friend who is proposing I join Arbonne? She would be good to work with although I am not educated on all the MLM companies and don’t want to make the wrong choice. I also have a blog which I want to leverage and it seems like most of the health and wellness MLMs utilize hosted parties. Are there any that are more internet based that have had a long time track record! Thanks and sorry for all the questions!
I was skimming through the postings on this site and wanted to respond to you with another great company that is highly recommended by top endorsers in the sports industry. I can vouch for them since I’ve tried and had results with the products. The company, AdvoCare. You are welcome to visit my site ans read my story as well as others -> https://www.advocare.com/13042399/default.aspx Give me a call or send email to advoalive@gmail.com. Should you want to join only as a Preferred Customer instead of a Distributor, the joining price is AMAZING!! Visit here: https://www.advocare.com/13042399/Enrollment/PreferCustomerBasicInfo.aspx Let me know what you think! Thanks!
If the official site of the MLM program you want to join does not have any of these features, you will probably have a hard time with making sales, especially if you have limited experience with selling products. A program that provides you with resources designed to help you become a better seller wants you to succeed and will help you generate more revenues.
The structure of MLMs is very similar to a pyramid scheme. This doesn’t mean that all MLMs are pyramid schemes, but some certainly are. Those interested in pursuing a career in multi-level marketing should do research before joining a particular MLM. Generally speaking, if the bulk of the money you stand to earn comes from recruitment rather than direct sales, it’s wise to be very cautious.
The MLM industry varies so much and is so vast, it’s kind of hard to break into any niche with a new product (because chances are it’s already been done), however this company managed to do it! With their custom nail designs and adhesive technique, the company made a big bang with their introduction to the direct sales platform.  They got over 100,000 associates in no time, and ended up conquering their market.
It's not deceitful practice - and Im removing myself from this conversation, as I am not one to sit and banter back and forth about who's business does or doesn't do what. I know what I have, and I know what we do - and it is NOT multi-level marketing. I dont have time to waste explaining how wrong you are, and I don't have time to waste on someone who is negative and quick to knock another business down. Not good business etiquette if you ask me.
Below are the companies we think are worth investing in and working with.  These days, you don’t have to be locked into just one direct sales company! Diversification is key. The more products you can present to your customers, the more opportunity for a purchase and an up-sell. If you focus on selling clothes, why not have healthy food item as an up-sell?
Timing – The company is at the ground floor! The opportunity is huge for those who join so early! Look at other companies and ask the top leaders when they joined. Don't let this opportunity pass you by! It's only $99.00 to own and operate your own business today! We also have a 30 day money back promise on the business – so U have nothing to lose!
