Kay, you don’t need a lot of money to buy essential oils, NOT AT ALL! Specifically now that distillers will sell directly to small businesses with very minimum amount, your $100 will buy you a lot actually. Averagely, your cost with MLM in a single bottle will be around 25x-30x more. So it is not the cost; but the business set-up (packaging, presentation, etc.).
The uniqueness of the Ambit Energy is the company does not seek to create a lot of noise about it nor promises to create any insane innovations. It just offers simple services to the people such as of providing gas service to home or electricity and all these at a cheaper rate than its competitors. It offers people an exceptional opportunity to save money and this approach does work.
Hi Holly! Have you considered adding Paparazzi Accessories to your list? They are a new company (only 3 years old) and still growing but with great $5 jewelry and accessories I can’t keep enough in stock! Women just love to buy and wear it. Kits start at $99 and go up to $499. If you would like more info, let me know! Thanks for another great article!
If the idea of potentially high risk and potentially high reward appeals to you, getting in on the ground floor with an MLM can be the way to go. We’ve compiled a list of several companies that launched in the last couple of years, have a look and see if there’s one that appeals to you. Some of the companies are even or were recently so called pre-launch mlm companies, meaning they are yet to launch publicly.
loved your notes..... great opportunities are for everyone and anyone. It's not about being black or white, rich or poor, fat or thin, educated or dropping out, it's about taking a chance on yourself, ......ask questions, make friends, get new fun experiences and earn a few extra dollars too. I tried a few, stuck with mary kay 12 years....when I worked, it worked,.....when I did nothing....well you know. Pray and ask GOD where you need to be.....you can do anything.
From my research of DCD, it seems that this is a company and product that would best suit a mom with older kids who can stay behind for chocolate-tasting parties since it seems pretty hard to sell the product through social-networking alone or in your own limited social-circles. I think that some of the products would sell well in an office setting too--say as holiday gifts from the boss at a large company.
I found your article interesting. My wife and I have been involved with AdvoCare since November 2011. Even if I never make another dime in AdvoCare, I will continue to use the products because they have worked and continue to work for us. What I find interesting is the statistic that the majority – 99.7% in MLM actually “lose” money. What is the context of that statistic? That would mean A: the majority of MLM companies don’t have a buyback or return policy B: people that get started with MLM’s have to take on much more inventory that they are able to sell or C: this statistic is not accurate. I believe that C is the right answer. I do agree there are flaws in the MLM industry just as there are flaws in every industry. However, I believe that the MLM industry has made huge improvements in recent years and we do have a better way. People are the variable. When you have a great product, a passion and purpose that drives you everyday, are teachable and coachable, and love others as much as you love yourself, you can be successful in this business. Through the process of investing in your own personal development and learning to serve others, you are able to lead others to do the same. Thanks again. I look forward to reading more from you in the near future.
You’ll also find the work much easier if you have developed a range of media-related skills and understand how to navigate the MLM world. At Be On Air Media Schools, we have a variety of programs that can prepare you for MLM success. Give any of the Ohio, Colorado, Illinois and Miami Media Schools a look. Once you decide if it is the path you want to take, you can apply online.
Here's another skincare and makeup company. This one is totally perfect for busy moms who don't have time to shuffle products, carefully pack boxes for shipment or even host parties, because L'Bri's does it all for you while you hustle from home, on the road, and between your kids' appointments. If you decide to host a party, though, you have the potential to earn even more by pampering your hostess and guests with samplings of your own products, giving them the chance to experience L'Bri's natural lines of makeup, anti-aging serums and sunscreens.
Founded 10 years ago, this company sells a range of unique accessories including an array of fun jewelry, pieces, trendy tunics and scarves, clutches and cross-body bags. There's also a line of fine jewelry featuring diamonds and white or yellow gold. Stylists earn 25 to 35 percent commission on sales. Starter kits to demo products run $199 for basics. You get to choose the accessories and jewelry you want for your kit, so it's completely personalized to your tastes. Sister companies, Keep Collective and EVER Skincare, offer other direct selling opportunities.
He contrasts these statistics with the failure rates for traditional small businesses, using the Small Business Administration’s statistics for 2008 that found that 44% of small businesses survive at least four years and 31% at least seven years, and 39% of businesses are profitable over the life of the small business. Only 64% of small businesses fail in 10 years.
Keeping with the trend I have here, yes this is another MLM company operating under the nutritional niche; and it comes to us from Utah. They have a specific product that’s help made them well-known: seed nutrition and the “black cumin seed,” which evidently is very potent for helping fight cancer cells and encourages anti-oxidant benefits, among other things.
This company unbelievably made it on this list…they should not be here. In reality, they probably should not even be operating a business following the beating they took by the SEC and the FBI in the year 2007. Still the comeback they made was huge! The evidence is in the income disclosure statement, where it can be seen that $76k yearly was made for full-time, proven representatives.
Peter Castleman, Chairman of Herbalife, will be launching YEVO International on February, 1, 2015. This will be the first business to have dehydrated foods with 43 nutrients we all need in order to live healthy lives. Most of the foods we eat today, whether processed or organic, doesn't gives us the amount of nutrients we need in our bodies. I'm looking for people who will be dedicated to making a difference in people's live as well as their own lives. If you're interested in joining me please do email me at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Once again my name is Denise Williams.
Founded in 1978, Forever Living Products is a multi-billion dollar MLM company with a presence in over 150 countries. Forever Living manufactures and sells dozens of exclusive, beneficial wellness products based on aloe vera. According to Forever Living, aloe enhances the body, inside and out, and its products ranging from age-defying facial treatments to delicious, antioxidant rich drinks.
If 18,000,000 Americans consider MLM their careers, yet only 0.3% actually succeed beyond average corporate America wages, do people realize that means there are barely more than 50,000 Americans “living the MLM dream” and almost 17,950,000 who just help the 50,000? Sad. I was part of team Tupperware decades ago because I wanted to buy Tupperware for my home for less. It took me about 14 months as a stay at home mother (never recruited, never pressured, my distributor didn’t like my attitude) to accomplish that task and then walked away. I live in rural America where so many fall to MLMs attempting to climb out of paycheck to paycheck living (very few good jobs) like the saved into a baptismal pool. “Disciples” is the perfect word. MLMs are just not thriving here. How many Americans can one recruit/sell to for building a business in a rural county with less than 20,000 other Americans of which 75% live below the poverty line? I see MLM victims everywhere.
Great list with a lot variety, Holly! I’m an independent consultant with Jamberry Nails – http://katiemboehm.jamberrynails.net. We offer a heat activated, vinyl nail shield that lasts for 2 weeks on fingers (6 weeks on toes). It isn’t nail polish based, so there is no dry time, flaking or smudging! Even better, it is non-toxic, water tight and made in the USA.
This company was living life in the lime light, and they were trending for a good while there. They deflated out a bit, however they are still pretty big. There are over 50 countries currently promoting their immunity-boosting nutritional products, and the rave reviews from the former and current associates makes things seem pretty superb. Although it’s mentioned that the commissions aren’t great, but maybe that’s okay as long as their reps have continued happiness?
They also offer a $100, $500, $1000, $3500 products which they offer 100% commissions on. The great thing about Empower Network is their products are training products. You can buy their products to build ANY network marketing company out there. Without Empower Network, I wouldn’t be making the money I am today with the knowledge and skill set to succeed online as well.
However, I have been a Pampered Chef customer on and off for over fifteen years, and when I saw a few products online last June that I was interested in, I messaged the only consultant I knew (met once several months before) and had a online party. Then, on a whim, I signed up. Not because the consultant badgered me (barely even mentioned it). But when I realized the starter kit came with everything I needed (including catalogs and paperwork) and that there were no hidden penalties or fees if I didn't sell "enough" I though I'd try it for the summer just for fun. I had zero parties lined up and I decided ahead of time that I was going to make ONE post to Facebook about it and not rely on family members to make my business happen. And I'd just see from there. Seriously nothing to lose except the kit fee, which I got product for, at least. (side note: new kits came out recently and cost between $109 and $249, depending on which you choose. Plus, you can get $25 or $50 credit toward your kit when you host).
Tastefully Simple is a food product business for easy cooking. Every food product in here requires 3 or less ingredients! And most of the time it’s things you already have in your cabinets/ ice boxes. What I like most about tastefully simple is its SIMPLE. I don’t cook and I promise you that! Tastefully Simple is the easiest and yummiest way to get dinner on the table. We have Drink buckets for the summertime parties – Just add Vodka or Tequila. You can also just make them into kid’s drinks, the alcohol is not added ‘til you add it! We also have our famous Beer Bread that you don’t have to necessarily use “beer” you can use soda pop also! We have soups, spices, and delicious desserts for you, your family, or guests at a party! http://www.tastefullysimple.com/web/tlapoint for more info!!!
Apparently, he did everything he was asked, from buying monthly training products to attending conferences, which can get expensive. Today, those costs are greatly reduced. The Internet, online training, flat-rate long distance and/or cell phone service, and free and affordable online marketing have made building any business, including MLM, much more affordable.
I've been with Young Living for 2.5 years and thankfully have not experienced anything like what Beth posted above. My team is incredibly supportive and willing to share and help. You technically do not ever have to make a purchase after your initial purchase. However, to remain an active member to receive the wholesale discount, you need to make a $50 purchase within a year of your initial order. Of course there's more to it than ordering $50/year if you want to build a business, but there aren't any secrets or hidden fees.
There’s not necessarily a single answer to this question because your earnings depend largely on one important factor: you. If you’re willing to put in the work, and you are working with an MLM that fits your interests and passion, you’ll probably find yourself earning a pretty penny. However, if you choose an MLM that has a mission and products that you don’t have interest in, then your chances for success are far lower.
Excited to hear that Watkins is one of your faves. More n more I am loving my Watkins business and family. Our sign up in June is a mere 29.95 and that includes personalized website. You are free from there to do whatever you wish with no stressful monthly quotas or autoships. We are soon to celebrate 150 years in business - now that is legitimacy and longevity hard to match. Thanks for your article and your endorsement of Watkins!
Have you heard of Paparazzi Accessories? Lead and Nickel Free Jewelry for ONLY $5!! Our founders started this by making jewelry and selling at craft/vendor shows to help support their family and when the recession hit and their friends and family started loosing their jobs they sold them pieces at their cost! They then decided to start up this biz to help out others! :D You can join for a $40 enrollment fee OR buy a starter kit at various prices with $300 being minimum. We don’t have catalogs, we have no monthly sale quotas or deliveries. It’s a cash and carry business! :D
Hi. Great post and very informative as I did not know some of these existed. I would like to also add Arbonne to this list. My sister-in-law introduced it to me 3 years ago and it is still relatively unknown (especially since she was the only one I knew of that was talking about it and selling it). After two years of getting samples from here and hosting my own free facial party/girls night, I was hooked. The products are very impressive and all natural/vegan. I recommend everyone at least get a facial to try. We sell skincare, haircare, makeup, and even nutrition, all of which I have tried and highly recommend.
Our 2018 contest was open to direct selling companies with at least 40 full-time employees based in North America. Any employer or employee could have nominated their company during the open period last fall, which ended on October 23, 2017. Each nomination included a contact person who received all of the communications from Quantum. After the nomination period ended, Quantum sent out an official invitation to each company to begin the survey process.
The prospect of working from home is becoming increasingly popular. According to The New York Times, a recent Gallup poll reports 43 percent of employees work remotely some of the time. Of those, the number working from home four to five days per week has jumped to 31 percent. Modern workers seem to be embracing the flexibility of working remotely, so it’s not surprising that multi-level marketing companies (MLMs) are “poised for explosive growth,” Forbes predicts.

When you hit over a billy in annual sales, that’s reason enough to be on the shortlist. On top of that, they’ve been in the MLM game for over two decades, and they’re now the “largest online wellness shopping club” (basically just sounds like a fancy way of saying they sell a lot of miracle diet pills…for our rankings of the best women diet pills are here).
I'm surprised not to see Perfectly Posh on the list. They offer natural, and vegan skin care and pampering products that are budget friendly. The startup is only $99, no inventory requirements, low 6 month minimums, and a minimum of 20% commissions with reachable promotions in rank and pay. You get a ton of full size products when you sign up, plus a free website, and other marketing support materials. The sisterhood and teamwork is like nothing else I have ever experienced.
This can seem like an overwhelming task initially. Just because of the sheer volume of direct sales companies that are out there. Let's break it down into an easier task. I've found over the years from my own personal experience, as well as talking with 100's of other men and women in direct sales that by asking yourself certain questions, you can narrow down your search immensely. And take your time – mull it over. Sleep on it.
I am a Founding Consultant for a wonderful new ground floor direct selling company that is currently wide open in the US. The company has been in prelaunch for over a year and during that time has had great success testing their products in several locations in the US. The company was able to create a wonderful new training program and website that makes it so simple to provide training to you and your downline and serve your customers. If the idea of being in business, being the first in your area, and selling upscale products that are guaranteed to be the best in quality and workmanship sounds like something you might like to do. Then, we should talk. I always ask my customers one simple question, “Where can you find the perfect gift for every occasion, have it personalized at no extra charge, gift wrapped and delivered for you and you never have to leave your home to do it?”

Except we don't have a container garden. We have one strawberry plant that our cat ate (thanks, Meredith). Gardenuity, a company that ships the container garden straight to your door, gives me the hope that one day this daydream will be a reality. Customers can choose from indoor herb kits or outdoor veggie gardens with which they'll receive their plant, container, soil, compost, plant food and (here's the the best part) concierge service which means they can panic call customer service to troubleshoot issues common to those who lack a green thumb.
Umm...ever heard of Amway? No direct sales / mlm list is complete without it.
