If you grew up in the 70s, you probably remember the Avon lady coming to your door saying … “Avon calling!” Or maybe your mom hosted a Tupperware Party when you were younger. The direct sales industry has come along since then, and it can be a great way to earn money from home. If you're not familiar with this business model, here's the gist of it.

This eco-friendly MLM is seriously committed: their headquarters are operated with wind power. They’re pretty future-facing in general, having implemented an innovative social marketing strategy amongst their reps. No one likes to be harassed on Facebook, but Modere’s social media plan is still 10 times more effective than holding home parties (kill me).

I really believe there are people seeing success in so many of these companies. I am just tired of being the loser trying them all. Because I am so tenacious I can’t stop searching until I find a legitimate way to make extra money. Since I am an advocate for the people as well, once I find success I will do everything possible to help others become successful. So many people have their share of financial challenges and it really takes a team to build. If you can help me see a real $100 a week with DSD it would mean the world. The hardest thing to find in starting a mlm or online money opportunity is strong leadership. I need to find someone who truly gives support and guidance that yields results for their members. If you really are this person Jesse what is the best way to contact you? I don’t want to sign up through a link, have my credit card processed and then feel lonely, lost, and violated because I just wasted my money on another opportunity.

#4- Set goals and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone- One of the big things that keeps people from getting their goals is being afraid! Signing up for a direct sales company and achieving success might push you a little outside what you are comfortable with, but that’s ok! Take baby steps and keep your goals in mind, that will help you push yourself!
Thank you for this article! I’m with Doterra, like a lot of other people I didn’t start out selling. I just wanted to use the product. But, when you see such great results you can’t help but tell people. I love working for this company!! I have worked for Tupperware, Amway, Jafra, It Works, I never made money like I am with doTerra. Hands down its the best!! I’m working hard to build my business and it is paying off and I’m reaping the benefits for my health. God’s Design for our Natural health care is top notch! I give God all the glory and I couldn’t do this without him.

Hi Holly! Have you considered adding Paparazzi Accessories to your list? They are a new company (only 3 years old) and still growing but with great $5 jewelry and accessories I can’t keep enough in stock! Women just love to buy and wear it. Kits start at $99 and go up to $499. If you would like more info, let me know! Thanks for another great article!

Hi Kierstin, this is a great list of DS companies. I researched a lot of these before signing up with Lilla Rose, whom I have been with for 18 months now. I just couldn't make myself pay a company for a website or have to sell a minimum quota each month regardless of my real job. I am a single mom with a full time job and two little ones (really little) so I wanted something that I would actually use and could sell to people with the purpose of sharing something that I genuinely think is awesome. Some months, I didn't have time to promote my product so I wanted a company where I didn't have to sell a minimum amount or have to maintain a website

The company. Too many people get lured by the hype, without stopping to consider the company or its product/service. What does the company sell and can you get excited about it? What are the compensation plan, marketing system, and policies, and can you work with it? Is it a member of the DSA, and through your research, been found to be a legitimate company?

I hardly feel like I chose Trades of Hope at all. It more or less chose me. I was a stay at home mom to two baby girls – ages 3 and 9 months at the time – when I started to feel like I hit some sort of wall. You know the one where you realize you haven’t changed your shirt in an insanely long time or had a conversation with an actual adult? I had graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English & Sociology with a concentration on Race Relations three years prior, and although I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to “be” I would often tell my husband that I just wanted to be an advocate for someone. Never in a million years did I think I would find my calling in Direct Sales. When I came across Trades of Hope at a church fundraiser I was taken with their mission, and it didn’t take very long for me to realize that this was exactly what I’d been looking for – a way to do what so many of us want to do – stay home to raise my babies while making an impact on things that were making me sick inside, like sex trafficking, poverty, lack of education for girls worldwide, etc. And I was going to get paid for telling these incredible stories, educating the public on fair trade, and wearing beautiful handmade jewelry?! I was instantly in love with it. My husband was a little bit nervous that this was too good to be true, but two years later, he is high-fiving me in the hallway when I hit my career goals (yes I said career!), and sending me off to Haiti this October to meet my artisan partners there.

After months of research, I finally decided on Fundanoodle and became a Fundanoodle ambassador. Fundanoodle is an education readiness program (selling activity books and games) geared towards 3 - 7 years olds to develop motor skills and prepare them for success in school. The products were designed by pediatric occupational therapists and elementary school teachers. This product is a hit with the homeschool crowd, and many parents with children with special needs especially ASD have found these products to be very useful. However, Fundanoodle products are designed for all little learners!
She reiterated a common theme I heard throughout the interviews.  “If you treat it like a hobby it won’t pay you like a business.”  She also acknowledged that, in spite of her success, she doesn’t sit around eating bonbons every day waiting for residual checks to hit the mailbox.  “That’s a common misconception,” she said.  “I work hard at my business every day, although it doesn't always feel like work.  Similar to other entrepreneurs who profit from their passion, she says “It’s rewarding because I found a product that has made in difference in how I look and feel… and I love selling it and helping other people start a business.”

I do make money writing these articles and you're welcome to join HubPages and give it a shot too! Unlike direct sales, I won't make any money for referring you and I won't try to sell you anything but I think you would do really well here because you seem to like writing and researching. You can join for free and then if at any point you want some guidance you can ask the community for help. We all work together here! It's an awesome platform and even if a reader is unhappy with your work you still get paid so it's a solid situation.

If you’re headed towards the future, WGN will be there waiting.  This company is ready to take on the world and they just may be ready to do so.  They sell every futuristic gadget you could think of, some items include their space phones, wearable tech, and VR (virtual reality gear).  They’ve only been in business for a limited amount of years, but they are on a constant rise in the MLM list of top 100 businesses globally.

Right now, as I type this, my two-year-old is sitting next to me eating a giant bowl of Cheerios for dinner because I've spent the entire day working from home and still have to start dinner. She's covered from chest to knees in milk that's making its way onto the woven blanket I've carefully tucked around our couch cushions for exactly this reason. So, add "wash couch blanket and the toddler" to my list of things to do tonight, on top of dinner. And dishes. I'm busy, and I'm tired, and I'm juggling like ten things at any given time while also trying to pull in some extra income. It's a crunch, right? If you've ever thought about joining a direct sales company to help make ends meet but, like me, felt like you didn't have the time (or energy) to take on a time-consuming side hustle, then this list is for you.

Her first class fundraiser was in 2009. With the principal's permission, Darlene sent catalogs and letters to parents, explaining the goal: Sell what you can in two weeks (without kids going door to door, for safety's sake) and all profits will fund field trips and special events. Since she's in Avon's President's Club—a rank achieved when you sell over $10,100 in a year—the class would get at least 40% commission on sales. Her students' parents sold $1,100 worth of products, earning about $475. It enabled them to hear from a bat scientist while studying the book Stella Luna, and visit a nursing home to read to the elderly.
This company isn't cheap to join: the least expensive kit costs a whopping $499 and goes up to $1000.00 from there. Each starter kit contains everything you need to start your business plus products to familiarize yourself with the line and share with friends and family as you build up your clientele. The compensation plan isn't too simple either and you'll want to fully look it over before committing to the company, but if you're ready to hustle your butt and put your all into marketing Nerium's superior products then there's great potential to earn a steady and comfortable income.
I can not believe no one has mentioned Tupperware! I even read through every comment before saying this! I am a Tupperware consultant and we have been around for 60 years! Start up is $99 and you ear 25% commission with tons of bonus opportunity including car perks! It is a great company to work for. Check out my website my2.tupperware.com/laurenbrady
I have been looking over your sites and viewing the many videos. It sounds appealing however there are many many . . . many lead generators out there, some that are well established (and very good at what they do) and so my question is why would I pay you to train me for 5 weeks and think I could compete (let alone generate income) in the short period you mention?
Our starter kit is $99 and we offer you the option of hosting a party in order to  put the hostess rewards towards the purchase of the kit. The average home party is a $500 party which would earn you $90 in free product that you could decide to cash in for a $90 kit coupon so the up-front investment is incredibly reasonable, and potentially free (minus tax & shipping).

IT Works is famous for the Ultimate Body Applicator that tightens tones and firms any area in just 45 minutes, but also offers over 30 other products that everyone wants including Greens, Energy Drinks, and Essential Oils. As wrap distributors we make money by talking to people about the products and the business just thru social media or word of mouth. It's so simple, so much fun, and there are so many different ways to make money. Let's get your journey started today!
Looking compliant is easy. Building a CULTURE around compliance is hard. Building a culture requires doing more than paying lip service to compliance. It requires full buy-in at the corporate level to teach and enforce the important policies. It requires field leaders committed to responsible growth, and corporate leaders that avoid saying things like “the lawyers make us do this.” And finally, it requires constant investment.
