Daria M. Brezinski Ph.D, a practicing psychologist and former marketing director for a multi-level marketing magazine, echoes these sentiments.  “Many people don’t realize that multi-level marketing companies are successful because they help people satisfy a number of important human needs, including feeling significant, having connections, learning something new, and making a difference.  I have heard people in network marketing say again and again, ‘I’m doing this because I’m meeting amazing people … making so many connections … and I feel so good about myself.’”
Now this company is one of the more infamous networking marketing companies out there, but maybe not for the reasons you’d think.  They have been in a never-ending battle with the FTC for a number of years.  So, currently they have made an agreement to pay out $200 million dollars to former associates and have sworn to reorganize their organization.
Just about everyone loves a little extra sprinkle of goodness, a tasty touch that completes a dish. For us, it's all about the nibs. We love them on top of smoothies to add that extra crunch. Each company above is profiled in this supplement, with employees and executives sharing why they believe their company is a Best Place to Work in Direct Selling. All profiles are based on questions presented by DSN to companies. Quantum Workplace, our third-party vendor, conducted the research and compiled the results for this program (please see page 34 for more information about Quantum and the contest).
These nonsalaried workers may be stay-at-home parents, college students or part-time workers hoping to make money by selling products such as vitamins and makeup to their friends and family. But experts note that just selling products is typically not enough to make a profit, and workers are encouraged to recruit a "downline," a team of underlings from whose sales they also earn a commission, creating a pyramid-shaped compensation structure.
Right now, as I type this, my two-year-old is sitting next to me eating a giant bowl of Cheerios for dinner because I've spent the entire day working from home and still have to start dinner. She's covered from chest to knees in milk that's making its way onto the woven blanket I've carefully tucked around our couch cushions for exactly this reason. So, add "wash couch blanket and the toddler" to my list of things to do tonight, on top of dinner. And dishes. I'm busy, and I'm tired, and I'm juggling like ten things at any given time while also trying to pull in some extra income. It's a crunch, right? If you've ever thought about joining a direct sales company to help make ends meet but, like me, felt like you didn't have the time (or energy) to take on a time-consuming side hustle, then this list is for you.

There are haters and there are devout followers of Rodan and Fields products but it's undeniable that this company is booming. It originated in department stores but was pulled nearly a decade ago and converted to a direct-sales company. If it sounds familiar that's because Rodan and Fields is the same company that created and sold the Proactiv line (which was personally heaven-sent for my crappy post-high school skin. Though I no longer need to use it, I credit the product with my now scar-free skin).

This company also offers, among the majority on this list, one of the greatest opportunities for big money. Glassdoor reviewers give it high marks and those I know who sell the product really seem to enjoy doing so. But success with Rodan and Fields absolutely hinges on your ability to invest time, enthusiasm, and of course, money into the product. Social networking is a must. As I've said with a few of the other companies on this list, I also personally see a locale aspect to success in selling this product. I live in a place where most people earn a low-medium income and I know this stuff would be a hard sell--not because it doesn't work, but because most people around here wouldn't be able or willing to spend that much money on skin care. If you're in a predominantly wealthy area and network with people who really care about appearance and skin care (say, in a big city) though, this is a company worth looking into.

Hmmm, what should I say about this company, well it still seems like they are far from “the finest and most-respectable retail energy provider in America,” I feel this way because it was just a few years ago that they were dealing with a class action lawsuit.  But when you have $1.5 billion in revenue in the bank from your global business, a lawsuit doesn’t really seem to break your stride.
I recently made the decision to become part of the PerfectlyPosh team, and I’m ecstatic I did. The brand is visually appealing, with their quirky-unique products names and creative designs, as well as being an overall quality product. This product suited me perfectly because I put my hands through rigorous hand washing and frequent alcohol based hand rubs. That is to be expected, as I am a practicing registered nurse. The natural based product delivers a level of healing that exceeds that of the well known brands we all know today. This company is very new, being several years old; so, there is much room for opportunity. Take so time to click on my link and discover for yourself what it means to be PerfectlyPosh. Indulge in the product, or make the move to become part of a fast moving team!!! perfectlyposh.com/ekellyRNBSN
Thoroughly enjoyed reading your mlm breakdowns and the comments, thank you Jeremy. Had a successful mlm business but had to make a decision to give it up or have a breakdown due to ongoing upline bullying so at a big crossroads at the minute. being an ‘older’ lady here in the north of England doesn’t bode well for conventional job hunting in the current economic climate so some serious thinking needed on my part and QUICKLY lol. Thanks again Jeremy x
I'm sorry to hear that you're disappointed in this post, however the idea behind this article was actually to come from the perspective of a stay-at-home mom so it is indeed an opinion and not necessarily a "fact based" article. You're right, from what I can find currently, the startup price to join It Works! is $99, not $100. I will update that in my article. I found that information on an unofficial It Works! blog called WrapItLoseIt.net where I read that the best starter package retails for $499. When I checked out the official It Works! website I was unable to locate any information directly from the company that indicates the actual startup costs of joining the company which I find frustrating as I'm sure others do as well. Would you mind posting a link to that here so others can find quick and clear information on It Works! without having to dig?

The enterprise membership is $9.95 a month with a one-time startup fee of $39.99. The Smart Living Company has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

When you think about making money from home, one of the first things you need to decide is how much you want to make and how much time you have to give it. There’s a big difference between looking a full-time at-home job, running your own business on your own schedule, and doing one-off tasks that pay a little bit here and there. Let’s take a look at some of the things you can do at each of these levels of “commitment.”
You also need to make sure the program you are interested in was evaluated by someone who actually tested it. If you find affiliate links in the review of an MLM program, the website that published the review is probably earning revenues by referring new sellers and you should understand that it might not be in the interest of the site to present the program in a neutral manner.
Peter Castleman, Chairman of Herbalife, will be launching YEVO International on February, 1, 2015. I am a Founding Consultant for a wonderful new ground floor direct selling company that is currently wide open in the US. The company has been in prelaunch for over a year and during that time has had great success testing their products in several locations in the US. The company was able to create a wonderful new training program and website that makes it so simple to provide training to you and your downline and serve your customers. If the idea of being in business, being the first in your area, and selling upscale products that are guaranteed to be the best in quality and workmanship sounds like something you might like to do. Then, we should talk. I always ask my customers one simple question, “Where can you find the perfect gift for every occasion, have it personalized at no extra charge, gift wrapped and delivered for you and you never have to leave your home to do it?”
"We're comedians, so the primary objective is to make people laugh...we believe that comedy is unifying and I love that we can laugh at ourselves together," said Dearing. "Direct sales are here to stay and that's not a bad thing...I know lots of women doing it right now, and I've purchased products from them actually. Our video was talking about the women who pretend to be friends to make a sale."
SeneGence International is a great skin care company to check out! It is the home of the original patented Lipstick (LipSense) that is waterproof, smudge proof, and lasts up to 18 hours! The major defining difference between other companies and MLM, is that they don’t mass market themselves, spending millions of dollars on television, radio and internet ads, but instead allocate that portion of their budget to pay hard working distributors who pound the pavement, form personal al relationships with clients, advocate their product, and hence donthe “marketing” for them.

I am with Mannatech, an 18 year old global home-based business in the exploding wellness industry which has over 1 million associates & growing, 70 patents, easy duplicable system in 20 countries including USA, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa, no deliveries, work around your own families commitments, full training, travel holiday incentives to be won, a rewarding business that makes a difference in other people's lives.... As a mom of girls, I spend a lot of time thinking about the legacy I’m leaving for them. I want them to see me as a mom that loved them hard when I was with them, and then pushed past my fears and did hard things to love the world outside of our home. I am so proud of the work I do to empower women just like me to create better futures for their families, to send their own daughters to school, and I LOVE that my five year old is understanding that work and asking me more and more questions about it. This has created a global mindset in my home that I never expected, and a curiosity about cultures and different people that is just awesome to watch blossom. And honestly? Because what I’m doing is so much bigger than myself, when it’s time to do the daily tasks it takes to run a work-from-home gig, I find the energy and the inspiration to do it that I can’t imagine would be there if it weren’t for the women and the mission behind our products. I love our beautiful pieces. I love being a storyteller. I love being able to work 30 mins to an hour a day from my living room while my girls play. I love knowing that I am making a real and lasting impact on huge things like sex trafficking WHILE contributing to our income in a way that’s changing our lives too. It’s just all around the best job ever.

This company is still able to shine through, even though they are in tough competition with other well-known competitors such as Mary Kay and Avon.  This company does promote their focus on having cruelty-free products for consumers and au natural ingredients, and from their stand point it looks like they could sling shot into the league of their rivals at any time.  You can anticipate to watch them enter the billion-dollar yearly revenue stream pretty soon!
Oh, Arbonne. In the past I have had several friends and acquaintances become Arbonne consultants. Some were successful, some were not. It really came down to the time and energy they were willing (and most importantly, able) to invest in this company. Those with young kids failed. It's time consuming and requires a lot follow up with potential customers.
I’m with LifeVantage and TeaLife. Both great companies to work with. LV we have 6 ways of being paid..commissions plus residual income on something no one else has. Big pharmacy is trying to synthetically create what we have in drug form that will have side effects. But we are natural. TeaLife is organic loose teas that are so yummy! 30% commissions on teas and 20% tea accessories. I order from both these companies as well because I believe in them 100%. If anyone has any questions please email me: dawnmahaney1@outlook.com

Keeping with the trend I have here, yes this is another MLM company operating under the nutritional niche; and it comes to us from Utah.  They have a specific product that’s help made them well-known: seed nutrition and the “black cumin seed,” which evidently is very potent for helping fight cancer cells and encourages anti-oxidant benefits, among other things.

Online Tutoring and Lessons — If you know a skill that can be taught in person, it can probably also be taught online over video chats. Offering lessons and tutoring online is a great way to work from home, on your schedule, doing something you know or enjoy. And teaching English online has been experiencing a huge boom in business these past few years.

I am very surprised not to see Younique on here for beauty products. They have their number one seller the 3D fiber lash mascara which is SO awesome!! Since joining Mary Kay, I’ve met some absolutely incredible women. We’ve shared successes and failures in our weekly meetings. My sales leader has even customized the weekly meetings when I’m traveling so I can meet with my group by webinar. I don’t feel alone as a Mary Kay consultant I know I can reach out to my friends who are also Mary Kay reps, whenever I’m having difficulties. They completely understand me and help me get through whatever barriers I’m having in my business.
